- Share organizational expectations and ensure alignment of priority work with district vision.
- Determine "where we are, and where we need to be" as it pertains to our organization to ensure a student-centered approach.
- Continue to establish a strong and focused District Central Office team.
Action Items
- Meet with union/association leadership to continue to understand structure, deepen instructional focus, and working relationships (Certificated, Classified, Principals, etc.)
- Conduct one-on-one interviews with all direct reports to be briefed on their current areas of responsibility, major initiatives under way with projected timelines, and major decisions that need to be made in one month, three months, six months
- Continue to review and assess the central office structure to enhance workflow and service delivery to school sites
- Review and analyze the organizational structures within Special Education (Key Factors: student numbers, 504 requests, and student evaluations)
- Continue to review all critical documents and artifacts including:
- Strategic Plan (preparation for designing Rochester's next plan)
- Board policies (maintain and update)
- Financial projections
- Population projections
- Legal proceedings and settlements
- Safety and emergency plans
- Strategic Plan (preparation for designing Rochester's next plan)
- Site visits at all schools/programs: Conduct individual meetings with all principals and school teams (staff, students, families). Obtain perspectives on the District’s/school’s strengths and opportunities for growth
- Utilize a common theme in all district communications, efforts, and actions
- Calendar superintendent school visits for the 2024-25 school year
